My Postcards for the People Project is on the theme of depression.
I have been experimenting with watercolour and pen and continuous line. My work is a kind of abstract expressionism. I have been dying my paper with watercolour and dripping watercolour on to paper to represent lack of control as it's unknown how the colour will spread.
With depression there is a lack of control. Continuous line represents a journey whilst also showing chaos as it can become quite overwhelming. The imagery is from places I visited to escape my depression and to escape communication which is why there are on people in the images.
It represents a journey of coping and that wherever you go, depression will follow, even when visiting places of joy.
I hope the finder will find the images and link my work with depressing and see through someone else's eyes, whether they're dealing with depression or not, as I find we tend to get caught up in our own thoughts.
